William Almond was born in Lincolnshire, England.

William was born in 1807 in Edlington. [1] He was the son of John Almond and Sarah Wright and was baptised at St Helen's parish church in Edlington on 31 May 1807. [2] William's father was a Carpenter [3] and William also became a Carpenter and Wheelwright. [4] [1] [5] [6] He married Mary Pickard, of Great Carlton, on 3 June 1834. [7] [1] The couple had seven known children:

  1. Hannah (Almond) Sharp (bef.1835-abt.1886)
  2. Harriet Almons (bap. 1837 Kirkstead) [8] [9]
  3. Henry (bap. 1841) [10] [11]
  4. Charles Pickard Almans (b. 1844 ) [12]
  5. John William (b. 1847 ) [13]
  6. Rachel (b. 1849 d. 1861) [14] [15]
  7. Mary (b. 1852 ) [16]

William lost his wife in 1859 [17] and then his daughter, Rachel in 1861. [15] He married Mary (Eassen) Ladley, a widow from Langton St Andrew, Woodhall, on 18 September 1860 [3] [6]

William passed away on 31 December 1881 and a burial service was held at Langton St Andrew on 3 January 1882. He was 74 years old. [18] [19]
