In May of 1857 the Allphin family began an immigration with the Homer Duncan Company arriving in Utah Territory 25 Sep 1857^[4]

During the Immigration of his family, along with other families to Utah, a woman with 4 children was left a widow. After their arrival to Utah, Israel took her and her children in and entered into a plural marriage. Israel and Susan (Dameron) Allphin were married 28 February 1858 in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory. To this union 10 additional children were born
