Biography

Rosa Allegro is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Antonino and Giuseppa Allegro. (Her mother's surname is not yet known.) I estimate she is born around 1716, twenty years before she marries.

Rosa marries Antonino Grizzaffi on 29 October 1736. Her parents have both died by this time.

Rosa and Antonino have at least five children: Sigismondo (c. 1736), Onofria (c. 1737), Francesca (c. 1741), and Fabiana (1757).

Onofria is born around 1732, based on her reported age at death. I estimate she is born around 1737, the year after her parents marry.

Sigismondo is born around 1736, based on his reported age at death.

Fabiana Maria Ignazia is born 10 March 1757 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Don Rosario Ciambri and Maria, wife of Antonio Mondello.^[1]

I estimate Francesca is twenty years old when she marries.

Francesca marries Domenico Guarino on 25 April 1761. Her father has died by this time, and her mother is living. Both their full names are given.

Onofria marries Gioachino Ciavarello on 21 May 1769. According to this record, Antonino and Rosa have both died by this time. Rosa's surname does not appear in this record.

Sigismondo marries Maddalena Tinnirello on 11 February 1770. According to this record, his parents are both living. Their full names are given in this record.

Fabiana marries Gaspare Carrabba, a widower, on 26 November 1778. She is called Fabiana Grizaffi et lo Bello (which is incorrect), and then her parents are not named, as would be usual.^[2]

Sigismondo dies at age 65 (b. 1736) on 24 November 1801. His wife, Maddalena, survives him.

Onofria dies at age 70 (b. 1732) on 18 August 1802.
