The barque, Aden set sail from London, England and Plymouth on 27 May 1849 with the ALLCHIN family among the passengers and arrived in Adelaide, South Australia on 15 September 1849 then continued on to Melbourne, Colony of New South Wales arriving on 21 October 1849[2][3]. The family consisted of Ebenezer, his wife, Hannah and son, James.
James married Emily Joy in 1873 in Victoria.[4] Their son was:
James died on 10 June 1924 in Armadale, Victoria.[8][9] His remains were buried at the Burwood Cemetery in Burwood, Victoria.[10]
