John Alford was born in Motcombe, Dorset, England.

John was baptised on 13 Oct 1675 or possibly 1676 at Motcombe, Dorset. [1][2] He was the oldest of five children of Thomas Alford.

John Alford of Motcombe married Martha Card, 2 Jul 1712 at East Stower. [3][4] There were 5 children from the marriage

  2. Martha (Alford) Arnold - Motcombe 1714
  3. Ruth (Alford) Davies - Motcombe 1717
  4. Elizabeth (Alford) Mead - Motcombe 1722

John died at Motcombe and was buried on 18 April 1740 . [5]

There is a William Alford son of John Alford baptised at Motcombe on 12 February 1709/10. Did John have another wife before Martha or is the father a different person?
