Grover Cleveland "Pete" Alexander was born on 26 February 1887 in the town of Elba in Howard County, Nebraska. His parents were William Alexander (1849-1916) and Margaret Jane Coottey (1850-1932).
Grover played Major League Baseball for 20 seasons (1911 to 1930) with the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals.
Grover is buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Saint Paul, Howard County, Nebraska, USA.[1]
