Ballie Alexander was born in December, 1836 in Mississippi, United States as a son of unknown man born in Virginia and an unknown woman born in North Carolina.^[1]

In 1870 he married a woman named Mary, born May 1831 in Mississippi (Marys' parents birth location is not known). ^[2] They were living in Township 9 Range 10 of Lawrence county near ten other people with the last name of Alexander. The man and woman living right next to them may have been Ballie's parents, as they are of the right age and born in the states Ballie's parents were born.

In 1880, Ballie was living in Beat 2, Lawrence, Mississippi, United States. Born in Mississippi. ^[3]

In 1900, Ballie was living in Beat 1, Lawrence. ^[2]

Ballie died in October, 1901 in Mississippi, aged 64. He was buried in Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Sontag, Lawrence County, Mississippi.^[1]. Note there are 11 people buried in that same cemetery with the last name of Alexander.
