Frances was born about 1792 in Rowan County, North Carolina. She died in Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina on Apr 16, 1835.

Parents: William Lee Alexander (1765-1806) and Elizabeth Henderson (1770-1806)

Spouse: David Franklin Caldwell, married in 1810

In 1810 he married Frances M. Alexander, the daughter of William Lee Alexander and niece of Archibald Henderson. By this union he had six children:

  1. William Lee Caldwell
  2. Archibald Henderson Caldwell
  3. Elizabeth Ruth (Caldwell) Fisher, married Colonel Charles Fisher
  4. Richard Alexander Caldwell
  5. Dr. Julius Andrew Caldwell
  6. Fanny McCay (Caldwell) Hairston, married Peter Hairston.

In Salisbury, on Thursday evening last, Mrs. Frances Caldwell, consort of David F. Caldwell, Esq.[1]
