James Wakelin Alcock, son of John Henry Wakelin Alcock (bef.1867-abt.1940) and Mary (Greenwood) Alcock (abt.1882-abt.1960) was born in the March quarter of 1912 and her birth registered in the Grimsby district [1].
James married Miriam I. Crowe in the Kettering district in the June quarter of 1939 [2][3]. In the September quarter, their daughter Ann was registered in the Kettering district [4].
In 1939 James (born 2nd February 1912), Muriel (born and a redacted person (presumably Ann) were living at 92 Queen Street, Rushden, Northamptonshire. Like his brother Frank Alcock (1917-2014), James appears to have been working in Artificial Manure Manufacturing as an Electrician's mate (the handwriting here too is illegible - Ancestry transcribes as "Arlyecia Mannie Terlebying Maning Electrical Mate"). [5].
On 29th September 1942, James was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his actions on a minesweeper as an Engineman of the Royal Naval Patrol Service (service number LT/KX 116014) .[6].
James' death was registered in October 1999 in the North east Lincolnshire registration district [7].
Nathaniel Alcock (mother Crowe) was registstered in the Wycombe district in 1939 - gro has a marriage of parents earlier.
