Biography

Andrew Agnew was born in 1853 in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.

He was the Member of Parliament for Inangahua (1884-1887) and Te Aro (1887-1890.

He married Mary. They had three children:

  1. Valerie Harriet Monteath (1889-)
  2. Lois Elian (Elaine) m. Charles Gabriel Allen in 1907
  3. Charles Bruce (killed at Gallipoli)[1]

Secondly, Andrew (43) married Margaret Antoinette Allan (25) in 1897 in St Mary's Cathedral, Wellington, New Zealand. They had two daughters and a son:

  1. Jean Antoinette
  2. Thomas Alexander Stuart
  3. Elizabeth Mary[2]

Andrew died on 25 September 1916 in Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand, aged 63.

I think his LNAB was Stuart-Monteath or Monteath not Agnew.
