Herbert was born in 1897. He was the son of John Agar.
He graduated from Columbia University in 1919.
Herbert was a writer and editor. He won the 1933 Pulitzer Prize for history.
One of his famous quotes is: "Snobs talk as if they had begotten their own ancestors."[1]
He passed away in 1980.[2]
