Biography
Sarah Ady was born about 1752, probably in Painswick Gloucestershire.
One source claims her parents were Thomas Adey (born 1726 and christened in Westbury, Gloucester) and Hester (b. 1725), who were married on 20 Dec 1742 in Woodchester, Gloucester, England.[1] It is equally possible that Thomas and Hester were actually brother and sister, as there is a record for a Hester Ady born in 1724. [2]
An excerpt from Gloucestershire Parish Registers marriage notes on 2 Apr 1770, in Painswick, John Cook, of Miserden, and Sarah Adey applied for a marriage licence. [3]

-Charles Cook was christened on 10 Mar 1772 in Wotton Under Edge, Gloucester, England.
-Thomas Cook was christened on 26 Apr 1778 in Sherborne, Gloucester, England.
-Sampson Cook was born about 1776.
-Grace was born about 1790.
-Phebe Cook was born about 1788.
-Samuel Cook was born in 1775. He was christened on 21 May 1775 in Painswick, Gloucester, England. He died on 24 Mar 1776. He was buried on 23 Oct 1776.
