Sir Edward Acton, 1st Bart. of Aldenham [Aldenham Hall, in Morville], Shropshire (bp. 20 July 1600 - bur. 29 Jun 1659),[1] was created baronet by Charles I on 17 January 1643/4 (19 Car. 1).[2] He sat for Bridgnorth (Apr - May 1640 & Nov 1640 - 5 Feb 1644).
In February 1647 he was fined £5,242, later reduced to £2,000. He was a Royalist during the Civil War.

Acton was the son of:
Walter Acton, Esq. of Aldenham, s. & h. of Robert Acton, Esq. of Aldenham & Bridget, dau. of Robert Doddington of Doddington, Shropshire;[2][3]
and Frances, d. & h. of Edward Acton of Acton Scott & Catherine, dau. of Thomas Powell, Esq.[2]
He was the brother of:
Richard of Dunvall in Shropshire (fl. 1623) m. Margaret, dau. of Michael Lister, Esq. of Rowton, Shropshire.[2]
