Biography

When William Raymond Abney was born on September 11, 1941, in Alliance, Ohio, his father, Eugene, was 26 and his mother, Lillian, was 28. He married Trudy Ann Nardini on November 2, 1963, in Hilo, Hawaii. They had two children during their marriage. Bill served 20yr in the US Coast Guard, was Captain of the 182ft Research Vessel Seward Johnson, and then served on the shuttle booster recovery ships. He died on February 28, 2002, in Port St. John, Florida, at the age of 60 of lung cancer.
