Willoughby Heinz Abner, named for his maternal grandfather Willoughby J Hynes, was born in 1920. He was the son of Ewart Abner and Virginia Rose Heinz. [1]
Willoughby was a graduate of Wilson Junior College, YMCA College, and John Marshall Law School in Chicago.[2]
Abner was notable for being :
president of the Chicago chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (1960)
special assistant to the director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (1964—1969)
vice president of the American Arbitration Association and a prominent national mediator (1969—1972)
director of the National Center for Dispute Settlement, a division of the arbitration association (1969—1972)
Sometime after the 16th February 1942, when his draft registration lists him as single, Willoughby and Senella J Jenkins were married.[3]
Willoughby Heinz Abner died of a heart attack, in Washington, District of Columbia, United States, on the 3rd December 1972.[4]
