Georg, Katharina, and three of their children immigrated to America in 1912. The group departed from Bremen, Germany on the ship Hannover, arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 13, June 1912. Although the family initially went to Flint, Michigan to stay with Christian Stähle, they eventually settled in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
