Biography

According the 2nd Volume of the Abbott Genealogy by Lemuel Abijah Abbott, George was born about 1668 "probably in Norwalk, Connecticut," ^[1]and "probably" married Hannah Hayes. ^[1]The author notes that the only "definite" proof of lineage is the will of George's father thay specifically mentions each of his children, and subsequent generations need further research. Thus, while it is proven that this George is the son of George Abbott and Mary (Weed) Abbott, additional primary source verification is necessary to demonstrate his marriage and children.

Based on the same text, it is assumed that the George Abbott who died in Norwalk around 1731 is this individual. ^[1]

His will is dated 8 January 1730/31 and proved on 3 September 1731 in Norwalk and recorded at Fairfield. His inventory was taken on 1 September 1731.^[2]
