Who are parents of William Brown 1730-1787 Rowan County, NC.

Question

Some people say his father is John L. Brown 1718-1796.  It can't be John would have been only 12 years old.  Who was William's father and mother?

Thanks Julie, we know the history and William was not born in Rowan Co, NC but we know he lived there.  Someone else added the Rowan Co.

Weldon, there appear to be two profiles for him.

They have the same year of birth and share a wife but have different death dates. I proposed a merge so that you can compare the two but if they are not the same person please reject the merge.

I put a transcription of the will for the William Brown who died 1787 on one profile. There is another William Brown who died 1785 in Rowan County.

The 1785 will lists the wife as Margaret Brown.

The 1787 Will lists the wife as Mary Brown.

These are two different William Browns. Can you tell from the 1787 will now on the profile if this is the right William Brown? The 1787 will wife is Mary and not Margaret.

Margaret Moore was William's first wife who apparently died before 1778.  He married Mary Unknown 12 Mar 1778 in Guilford County, NC. Mary was born 1723 and died 1797.

The profile record is flawed if you look at it.  It combines two different William Brown's.  Look at the the death dates and it mentions a wife named Martha.  The recorders goofed and combined the two.
