Can Wikitree incorporate the Kong family genealogy?

I have just returned from a third trip to China.  On this trip I visited the Kong family cemetery where descendants of Confucius (-551-09-28 to -479) are still buried.  I suspect that this is the longest well-documented genalogical record.  It is summarized at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_tree_of_Confucius_in_the_main_line_of_descent

I saw a number of fresh graves and living families mourning at graves of ancestors whom they must have remembered.  The many generations of Confucius ancestors may be doubted, but the main line of descent from him is continuously attested for the past 2,500+ years.  I suppose a family member is in charge of the cemetery who must have a huge amount of genealogical information in order to decide who has the right to be buried there.  I do believe Chinese genealogy has the longest continuous records in the world.  If some can be incorporated into Wikipedia, others may follow.

Great Idea Theodore!

You can add people to WikiTree who are not related to you by clicking Add from the drop down menu across the top of this page.  Then click New Person.

Sounds like a lot of great work!  Have fun!  Mags

As a funny aside, when you Google "Kong Family Genealogy", the first link is Nintendo's official family tree for Donkey Kong.

The Kong genealogy would be a huge undertaking - there are over 1.3 million living descendants! The 2009 Confucian genealogy is the first to include female descendants, too.

Maybe someone has an existing gedcom? I doubt there'd be many dupes to contend with...
