Where in Canada was George Henry LaPointe born?

I am trying to find out where my great grandfather was born and who his parents were. I have found two conflicting documents that state that he was born in approximately may 10 - 13, 1889 in Canada. There are records after that that show him being baptized in Alpena County Michigan in July of 1889. On that document the mother and father are listed as Auguste LaPointe and Marie Monroe. However, i found another document that stated that he was born on february 22, 1889 in Alpena, Mi and the mother and father listed are Auguste LaPointe and Nancy LaPointe. I need some clarification if any exists! Thank you!

I looked on the genealogie du Quebec website and found several Georges and Auguste Lapointe's however, none unfortunately fit the dates and spouses you have listed. Maybe the family had moved to Ontario at that time prior to crossing into Michigan.

I appreciate the information! It has been a hard road tracking the LaPointe side of my family. There were few of them to begin with and little information to go on as my grandfather Benjamin Henry LaPointe passed away in 1972. He was an only surviving child and his father passed away at a young age also.

I have a two volume book on the Audet and Lapointe genealogy that i purchased on a trip to the original homestead on the island of Orleans in Quebec .... if you have linked Auguste to Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe, i can see if i can find him
