Shared Photo: Letter from 7-yr-old Billy Stanbridge to his Parents 13 Jan 1940

Question

Sharing a letter written by 7-year-old Billy Stanbridge (Stanbridge-77) after he was evacuated from London to Beacon's Bottom (Buckinghamshire) at the start of WWII. The Newell family cared for Billy for about 4 years, and he never forgot their kindness. This letter shows his fondness for their son Leslie (Butler-29702) who took Billy under his wing. Sadly, Leslie was killed in action in the Netherlands on 22 November 1944.
