I belive Walter was born around 1890.  As an adult he lived in Toronto, Canada.  He was married to Muriel Maud Blackwell.  They had 3 children; John, born 1918 and died the same year; Mary Louise, and Charles, born 1926.  Walter and Muriel were divorced sometime after 1926.

Did you ever find any further information on Walter George Redburn Hammond? He was the father of Mary Louise Hammond Rawlinson and Charles Blackwell Hammond both deceased.  Walter was a patent attorney in Toronto and I believe he married again. I have a record of him on a 1963 voter list at 6 Grandstand Place, Apt 210 in Toronto. Nothing after that, I would be very interested in any further information you have on him.

Hello, happened upon your comment so I tried searching the Globe and Mail archives. I found a 1974 death notice that seems likely to be his; I uploaded the clip here: https://imgur.com/a/MutV24x

I assume "step-son" was a typo/error.

I searched interments at Mount Pleasant Cemetery; the age seems about right:

I didn't have any luck finding an Ontario marriage for his apparent second marriage, but perhaps they married elsewhere, or married late enough it's not yet available.

I'm not sure it would contain any useful info, but you could try ordering his death certificate: https://www.ontario.ca/page/how-get-copy-ontario-death-certificate-online
Thank you so much. That was a tremendous help.
