Biography
Altheda Emily Wade McMillen was born to Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ruth Ann Summers Wade by her second husband, William Daniel "Dan" Wade. Lizzie's first husband, Samuel "Sam" Wade, was Dan's brother and had died in a mining accident in December of 1873. On May 23, 1879, Lizzie and Dan were married. They had four children, Anna Belle, Altheda Emily, Edna G, and Joseph Wade...who sadly died at two years and five months of age. It was Dan who raised Sam's children, Henry Clayton and Eunice Elizabeth, as they had been but 3 and 1 at the time of Sam's death. He was greatly loved by them all. Altheda married Rueben Marret McMillen on June 10, 1900. They had a large family, Ruth Gustava, Molly, Eva Ethel A, Ruby Alfie, May Virginia, Susie Eunice, Lyman Thomas, Wade Reuben, and Anna Marcella McMillen. Reuben died Sept. 7, 1931 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery. Altheda never remarried and was living in Ferguson, St Louis County at the time of her death. Shw and Reuben are buried in the Riverview Cemetery, Louisiana, Pike CountyMissouri.
