James Wde of Malden was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, serving as a Private in Capt. Benjamin Blaney's company of militia, which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, to Watertown by order of Col. Thomas Gardner and to Point Shirley June 13, 1776, by order of Gen. Lincoln. He was a Sargeant in (late) Capt. Isaac Hall's company, and later Lieut. Caleb Brooks's company, Lieut. Col. William Bond (late Col. Thomas Gardner's) 37th regiment, and was at Camp Prospect Hill, Oct. 6, 1775
