Biography
Some have said that the wife of Abel Brown of Norfolk County, Virginia, was Elizabeth Leavitt, who was born and died in New Hampshire. It seems very improbable that she was the wife of Abel Brown who was born and died and apparently lived his entire life in Norfolk County, Virginia. Any reliable documentation concerning Elizabeth, the mother of Abel Brown's children, would be very welcome.
Research Note
Elizabeth Leavitt is not the wife of Abel Brown of Virginia. She is the wife of Abbo/Abbe Brown of New Hampshire.

We are working to reduce the number of “Uncertain” profiles on WikiTree. The standard usage on WikiTree is Unknown; see details below to clarify why this is important. This profile is a case in point, as it won’t show up in the searches as an “Unknown”.
This was posted recently on our G2G forum by the leader of the Unknowns project:
"When profiles have the surname Unknown, they will show up in searches where a married name is searched, but there are profiles where the surname is not known. In other words, if you have "Elizabeth (Unknown) Martin," and you search for "Elizabeth Martin," profiles for Elizabeth Unknown are included in the search, whereas profiles for "Elizabeth Uncertain" are not."
I have added a Research Note to the profile containing information on my search for the Last Name at Birth. I noted the LNAB, if found. Could you please take a moment and change the last name at birth on the profile to Unknown, if not noted in the Research Note or unless you have recently learned the correct Last Name at Birth, if so, then can you update it to the correct Last Name at Birth.
I'm glad to help with research if I can. If you have multiple Uncertain profiles, I’m happy to work with you to find and update each one. Just let me know!
