1900 Census, Beat 5, Adams, Mississippi. Monroe's age was given as 59 and birth Dec 1840. Wife Barbara was b Dec 1859. Daughter Ellen was b Aug 1881. Daughter Dessie was b Dec 1884. Son Nello was b March 1891. Daughter Martha was b Sep 1895. Son Monroe was b May 1899.[2]
1910 Census, Beat 4, Adams, Mississippi. Monroe Thomas was head of household, age 55. Wife Barbara was age 46. Daughter Daisy Harris was age 22, and the mother of 3 children: Miner Harris, age 7; Emile Harris age 5 and Villo Harris, infant. Daughter Martha Thomas was age 14. Son Monroe Thomas was age 12. Daughter Darkis Thomas was age 8. Daughter Julia Thomas was age 7.[3]
Daughter Daisy Thomas Harris reported her birthplace as New Orleans and her parents' birthplace as Natchez County, Mississippi. Daisy was b 1887. She married Emil Harris. Daisy died 18 Dec 1931 in Chicago; she was a nurse in a private home.[4]
