November 19 1944. Killed in action in France in August 1944, Richard Michael Collette Thomas, Major, Army Air Corps, attd. Wiltshire Regt. (Nugee's, B, 1926-30). Micky Thomas from his earliest days here was popular with everybody; always cheerful, happy and full of fun; a splendid fellow to have about the place. He was a House Prefect, in the XV, held the 3-mile record and ended with a Prize Cadetship at Sandhurst. He joined the Wiltshire Regt, in 1932. He was in India when the war started but later transferred to the Parachute Regiment in order to get into the fighting. He formed and commanded a battalion, but later in order to get still nearer the fighting he went back to his old Regiment and was killed a few days after rejoining it. Some of us will miss him terribly.
