Biography

Joseph was born on 29 May 1752 in Enfield, Hartford, Connecticut Colony to Elizur and Mary Talcott. ^[1][2]

Joseph married Mary Thomas. ^{[1] [3]}

Together they had five children:

2. Daniel ^[3]
3. Samuel ^{[1] [3]}
4. Betsey ^[3]
5. Dolly ^[3]

During the American Revolution, he fought under Colonel Benjamin Simonds in the Berkshire County, Massachuesetts Militia. ^[1]He may have been one of about five hundred men known as the "Berkshire Boys". This regiment notably fought in the Battle of Bennington in the summer of 1777.

Joseph died in 1826 in Trumbull, Ohio, United States. ^[1] He was buried in Old Bristol Cemetery. ^{[4] [3]}
