John was born in 1748 Dorchester, Massachusetts. He passed away 1 Nov 1822 Providence, Providence, Rhode Island.
1776 Project
Captain John Spurr served with Rhode Island Militia during the American Revolution.

Participated in the Boston Tea Party; and enlisted in the Revolutionary Army in 1775 and was commissioned as a captain in a Rhode Island regiment in 1776, and eventually attained the rank of Colonel. [1]
