Alexander was born 5 May 1802 • Acworth, Sullivan, New Hampshire. He was the son of David Smith and Eleanor Giddings and was one of a family of 12.
It is not known for certain who Alexander married.
Alexander died[1] on 4 June 1869.
Alexander (Sandy) is noted in the History of Hillsborough[2]
Sandy, son of David and Eleanor (Giddings) Smith, was born in Acworth, May 5, 1802; came to Hillsborough with his parents in 1819. Engaged in business as clothier at Bridge Village in company with his brother Ammi ; had also a saw and grist mill, which was burned about 1844, when he removed to New Boston, where he died June 4, 1869. He married first, Susan, daughter of Deacon James and Susan (Center) Eayrs, born in Merrimack, January 9, 1799; died September 24, 1855. He married second, March 14, 1857, widow of Charles Tucker, of Deerfield ; he died June 4, 1869 ; she died May 27, 1869.
