Biography
Samuel was born about 1853.
Mr and Mrs Samuel Scott, Deer Park Farm, Ballyronan, Magherafelt, celebrated their Golden Wedding in 24th March 1930, Rhey were married 24th March 1880, at Cartsdyke Church, Greenock, by the Rev Peter Thompson. [1]
Samuel died in 1932.[2] Samuel J. Scott of Deerpark Farm, Ballyronan after complications arose from a farming accident. He had been a prosperous farmer adopting modern methods. He was interred in the family burial ground at Woods Church on the 10th July. The chief mourners were
- Samuel Henry Scott P.E.T. Cookstown, Robert Alexander Scott, R.D.C. And William Scott (sons)
- R. McConn G.P.O. Belfast, and A. Scott (sons in law).
There were wreaths from
- his loving wife and family,
- daughter Lizzie,
- Samuel H., Maud, Fred, Cecil, and Maureen;
- Rob Annie and family.[3]
Research
Samuel is related to Benjamin Scott (abt.1858-1932) - I think his brother as his sons are mentioned as nephews at Benjamin’s funeral.
