Biography

Selina Sophia, daughter of Benjamin Scott (Capt H M 25th Lt Dn) & Charlotte his wife, was born on 25 August 1814 and baptised on 10 October 1814 in Fort William, Bengal.^[1]

Alexander McKenzie, farrier B Troop 2nd Horse Brigade, and Sophia Scott, spinster, were married on 28 December 1830 in Vellore, Madras [the FMP transcription uses Tuticorin as the place name]. Witnesses John Sims, A. M. Sims

Sophia, widow of ? Sergt Majr A. Mackenzie, died on 19 November 1886 and was buried on 20 November 1886 in Yeotmal, Madras, India. Age 71, widow of Cant. Sergeant Major A Mackenzie, died of Fever.^[4]

Private info (from OW) proposes Sophia's father was Capt Benjamin Scott of HM 25th Light Dragoons Regt, b 1775 Cranbrook, Kent, son of John and Elizabeth Scott, and mother was Charlotte.
