Jochem D. Schoonmaker was baptized February 13, 1737, in Kingston, Ulster county, New York. He was named for his paternal grandfather. [1] and died in 1804, in Rochester, Ulster county, New York.
Jochem enlisted in the Third Regiment of the Ulster county Militia, serving under Colonel Levi Pawling, during the American Revolutionary War. [2] Jochem is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as Ancestor #A101093.
Jochem married Helena De Puy. Poughkeepsie marriage record Nov. 27 1766. Her identification is very likely.
