Biography

Richard Sawtell was born July 20, 1751 in Bolton, Massachusetts. His parents were Henry and Sarah (Harrington) Sawtell.[1]

Richard Sawtell of Templeton was a minuteman in the American Revolution, serving in Capt. Joel Fletcher's company,, Col. Ephraim Doolittle regt. serving for 3 months. Later in 1777 he was in Capt. John Oliver's company, Col. Nathan Sparhawk's regt. reinforcing the northern army. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Richard married Sarah Grout on Dec. 31, 1776 in Templeton, Massachusetts. [6] [7] [8]
