María was born about 1789.

Research Notes

  1. María Manuela Samora born in 1789 was the wife of Antonio Archuleta and the mother of Pedro Antonio Archuleta. Pedro married María Simona Mestas in the mid to late 1820s and according to the 1885 New Mexico Census, they were both still alive and married then. For this reason, I detached María Samora as Pedro's wife.
  2. Estefana Archuleta's marriage record lists her parents as Pedro Archuleta and María Samora. María's husband could have used the name Pedro Antonio as well as his son but he died before 1817 so he cannot be Estefana's father. It's possible that Estefana's parents are a different Pedro Archuleta and María Samora completely unrelated to this family. Needs research. Korte-201 11:02, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
