Joshua Reams is an NSSAR Patriot Ancestor. NSSAR Ancestor #: P340449 Rank: Private
For a long time, it was thought Joshua was the son of Edward and, for a long time an Unknown Puckett. Since then that connection has been proven wrong. John was the son of Josiah Reames. Also, the Unknown Puckett has since been learned to be a Frances Puckett.
Historical Info (exact source unknown): Joshua Reams enlisted in the Army of The United States in the Revolutionary War in the year 1777 under Captain William Fawn of the Infantry in the Third North Carolina Regiment, commanded by Colonel James Hogan. He was in Lieutenant Colo's Company. He was marched to West Point and there stationed. He re-enlisted on July 20, 1778 and appears on a roll of Lieutenant Colonel William L. Davidson's Company on April 23, 1779. He served faithfully for the term of fifteen months and was discharged by Colonel Maybin. File of Joshua Reames, S39037
