Susan May Potter was born on March 9, 1898 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma Territory, daughter of Cornelius Potter (~1868–1949) and Eliza A Downing (1872–1907).

Susan died on February 2, 1916 in Delaware, United States, aged 17. She was buried in Allen Cemetery, West Siloam Springs, Delaware County, Oklahoma.^{[3] [4]}
