Benjamin was born about 1743 likely at Rowley son of Benjamin and Sarah (Woodman) Plummer. He died at Nobleboro, 18 May 1831 at age 88.[1]

Benjamin and Betsey resided in Nobleboro, Benjamin having come there with his father about 1756.[2]

Benjamin Plummer served as captain during the Revolution. He was commissioned on 7 February 1776 and headed a company stationed at St. Georges, Lincoln County for defense of the seacoast.[3]

Benjamin was a farmer and large landholder in Nobleboro. He also owned a sawmill. He disposed of his property to his children in a series of transactions. On 22 January 1801, Benjamin Plummer, yeoman of Nobleborough, in consideration of £57, conveyed to Abner Plummer of Nobleborough 105 acres with buildings in Nobleborough. On 1 April 1811 (recorded 29 January 1822), Benjamin Plummer, yeoman of Nobleborough, in consideration of $50 and other good causes, conveyed to John Plummer and James Plummer, a 100-acre tract of land in Nobleborough. On 6 June 1818, Benjamin Plummer, yeoman of Nobleborough, in consideration of $1,000, conveyed to Benjamin Plummer, Jr., merchant of Wiscasset, a 70-acre parcel in Nobleborough with buildings. On 16 April 1819, Benjamin Plummer, gentleman of Nobleborough, in consideration of $2,500, conveyed to John Plummer and James Plummer, yeomen of Nobleborough, a 100-acre tract on the eastern side of Damariscotta Bay in Nobleborough with house, barn, and sawmill standing on said premises. On 10 February 1819, Benjamin conveyed to Mary Rollins, married woman, in consideration of fifty dollars, an 8-acre tract of land in the town of Nobleborough. On 16 April 1819, Benjamin Plummer conveyed to Ellis Plummer, in consideration of $300, to her heirs and assigns forever, a 20-acre lot of land in the town of Nobleborough, adjoining the land of Mary Rollings, and pew number eight on the lower floor of the meeting house. On 29 January 1822, Benjamin conveyed to William Chapman, in consideration of $300, a 75-acre tract in Nobleboro partially adjoining the land of Elsy Plummer.[4]
