Biography

Hugh Parker was born at Honington Hall, Warwickshire and was baptised 16 December 1673.^[1] He was the eldest son of Sir Henry Parker, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Hyde. He married Anne Smith , daughter of John Smith, or Smythe, a Commissioner of Excise. ^[2]

They were parents of four sons and three daughters including ^[2]

• Sir Henry John Parker, 3rd Bt.
• Margaret Parker, who married Thomas Nugent, Count of Valdesoto, Spain.
• Sophia Parker, baptised 21 February 1708/9^[3]

He was MP for Evesham 1701-1708. ^[2]

Hugh Parker died in 1712. He was buried 12 February 1712, Honington, Warwickshire.^[4]

A large mural monument can be found in All Saints, Honington, to Sir Henry Parker, 1st Bt., and his son Hugh Parker "who married Joan Smyth and died 2 February 1712."
