Biography

Paul was born February 7, 1919, in near Alma, in Crawford County, Arkansas, ^[1] the second child in his family. When he was a teenager, his family moved from Arkansas to east Texas, where he attended Jacksonville High School. Following his high school graduation, he enrolled in Texas A & M University, but left the university during World War II to join the Marine Corps.
