Louis was born in 1916. He was the son of Earl Nelson and Lydia Dreveskracht. He passed away in 1998.

Louis Angelo Nelson
World War II veteran Louis Angelo Nelson, 82 of 616 Parkdale, died Friday in a Great Falls hospital of cancer.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery. Croxford & Sons Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Nelson was born on March 26, 1916, in Minneapolis, where he grew up and attended school.
He moved to Montana in the early 1930s. Nelson served four years in the U.S.Army during World War II, participating in the Battle of the Bulge and Normandy invasion.
On August 1, 1946, he married Ida Alma Kolstad at Scobey.
Nelson worked as an auto and body mechanic, owning his own business for many years in Glasgow and Great Falls.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and country music.
Surviving are daughters, Ruth Edwards, Ellen Nelson, and Helen Barta, of Great Falls, Betty Allison of Parker, Arizona; and eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
His wife died in 1993.

Research Notes

His obit. does not address his first marriage or son from his first marriage (Louis A Nelson, Jr). The marriage License for Louis and Ida does show that both of them were previously married. His first wife's name looks to be Elizabeth M. Ellsworth.
