Biography
Nancy Margaret Mellor was born about 1923.
She became a school teacher.
Nancy married widower Arnold Bennett, a barrister, on 17th June 1944 in St Andrew’s Presbyterian (now Uniting) Church, Brisbane. [1] As well as Arnold's four children from his previous marriage, the couple subsequently had three daughters and a son. They made their home in Auchenflower, in Brisbane's inner western suburbs and owned an avocado farm on Tamborine Mountain.
When Arnold was knighted in 1975, Nancy became entitled as Lady Bennett.
