Allison was born in 1979. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Deborah McWhorter. She passed away in 2020. (COD: Cancer)
She married Beau McGrath in 2005. Their children are Madeleine “Maddy” and Colin McGrath.
Allison graduated in 2000 from The Ohio State University with her Political Science Degree and went on to law school at the University of Missouri where she obtained her Juris Doctor Degree. Allison chose a vocation protecting at-risk children with The Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office and in her 15-year career she became Guardian ad litem Senior Trial Counsel and a mentor to many younger lawyers.
Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church figured greatly in Allison’s life and she was a Youth Advisor, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Ruling Elder. Allison frequently supported members in need with meals and participated in many Christian Education and Vacation Bible school events with her children. With her dedication to her family, church, and her career defending those who had no one to speak for them, Allison will be remembered as a sort of Wonder Woman. While battling her own Breast Cancer for over five years Allison continued to raise awareness by participating in walks and other charitable events and her team logo was based on Wonder Woman’s.
Beau and Allison married in 2005 and have two beautiful children, Maddy and Colin. Together they raised their children in church and in the Pleasant Ridge community. Their family enjoyed summers in Kiawah Island, South Carolina where Allison loved finding Sand dollars with her toes. What she most enjoyed was trips to Disney with her children and being a loving mother and wife. Allison has passed on her love of books to her children as they continue to read as their Mother did.
Allison passed away in 2020 in Pleasant Ridge, Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio followed with burial at the Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.
