He attended Elmira Free Academy in 1946[4] and also registered for the draft when he turned 18 that same year.[5]
He was attending college in 1950 and was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity at Bucknell University where he met his first wife.[6]
On 28 Jun 1952 he was married to Lousie Thorne.[7] The record states that he was an Ensign at that time and was advanced to the rank of Lieutenant J.G. on 1 Jan 1953.[8] eventually he would obtain the rank of Captain in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War.[9]
It appears that the couple had two sons by 1958.[10] They were presumably divorced before 1969 when Edgar married his second wife, Lorna Taylor, at the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Drexel Hill, PA., on 27 Sep 1969.[10]
In 1973 the couple relocated to Chardon, Ohio where they resided for 30 years.[10]
He passed away in Chardon, OH. on 28 Mar 2003.[1][3][11]
