Solomon Lovell, son of David Lovell and Mary Kingman Lovell1776 was born in Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts, on 01 June 1732. Samuel married first, on January 19, 1758 Lydia Holbrook, daughter ofJohn Holbrook and Sarah Hunt. They had two children, Sarah, born April 28 1759, died July 8 1759 and Lydia , born May 17, 1761. Lydia, the mother, died four days after the baby's birth, on May 21, 1761. Solomon then married Hannah Pittee (1730-1795) in May 1762. They had at least seven children:
Solomon died 09 September 1801 in Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.
Brigadier General Solomon Lovell is honored by the Daughters of the American Revolution for his service. [1]
Commissioned colonel of the 2nd Massachusetts Regiment - Feb 1776; Brigadier General of the Suffolk County (MA) militia - June 24, 1777. Led troops in Battle of Rhode Island (1778) and Penobscot Expedition (1779)[2]
