OBITUARY The dead are very where! Where'er is love, or tenderness, or faith; Where'er is power, pomp, pleasure, pride; where'er Life is or was, is death.

Died in Greene Co., GA., Sept. 24th, after a short illness, Mrs. Helena Geer, wife of David Geer, In the 62d year of her age. Mrs. Geer was baptized in 1826, by the venerable Jack Lumpkin, at Antioch, though for many of the last years of her life her membership was in the church at Baird's. She died as she had lived, maintaining an unwavering trust in Christ. As a christian, a child-like trust in God seemed to be her most prominent characteristic. A few weeks before her last illness in a confidential conversation with the writer, she referred to a time many years ago; when in the deepest affliction, and all refuge seeming to fail her, the promise was forthly suggested to her mind, as if spoken by an audible voice: "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." since that time she had been able to rest with calm reliance upon God's faithfulness to his promise. In her last hours, both by words and by signs when speech failed her, she was able with confidence to declare that all was well - that Christ was with her in her passage through the dark valley of the shadow of death.

"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, from henceforth; yea wait the spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them." P.H.M.
