Biography

Anna was born March 19, 1871, probably in Lithuania, but definitely somewhere in what was then the Russian Empire. Her father was Jacob Levine.[1]

Anna immigrated to the United States about 1884.[2]

Anna married Simon Adelson, also a Russian immigrant, March 10, 1888 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States[3] and they had at least ten children (see Notes).

In 1900 Anna and Simon lived in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States with their children Bennie, Dora, Samuel, Lily, and Jacob. Simon's parents also lived in the household.[2] In 1930 Jacob was still living in Anna and Simon's Wilkesbarre home, along with his younger siblings, Ruth, Theodore, Calma, and Albert.[4]

Following a six month bout of hypertension and myocarditis, Anna died of apoplexy April 18, 1935 in her home at 62 South Welles St in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States. She was buried April 19, 1935 in the Darling St. Cemetery,[1] better known as the BNai Jacob Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States.[5]
