Biography

Increase Leadbetter was in early life apprenticed to a blacksmith, followed that occupation. He lived in Stoughton, Massachusetts, then removed to Fox Islands, Maine., Fall of 1769. In 1788 Fox Islands became a town called Vinalhaven. Both Increase and his wife Katherine are buried on original farm they occupied in 1769.
