Biography
I have a Bachelor of arts in Ministry degree received 1953 from Pacific Bible Seminary [now Hope International University, Fullerton CA] On July 2007 I received the honorary Doctor of Social Services degree from Seoul Christian University, Seoul, Korea. I grew up in Prescott, Arizona, and gradated from Prescott Senior High School in June 1948, intending to take Chemistry at Arizona State College in the fall. I did enroll and start, but in January 1949 I transferred to The Southwest Christian Seminary in Phoenix to begin a career in Christian Ministry. After attending there a few years, I went to Inglewood, California, to teach in the First Christian Church and School there, continuing my studies at Pacific Bible College in Long Beach, from which I graduated in 1953. After a period of short time experiences in California and Arizona, in 1957 I went with a friend to do graduate work at Cincinnati Bible College in Ohio. There I met Donna Boroff, a church secretary in Latonia, Kentucky, and a graduate of CBC herself, and we were married in 1959. Our daughter Jenifer was born in 1960 just after we moved to a ministry with New Burlington Church of Christ in Cincinnati. I served there till 1964 when we accepted a call to do substitute mission work in South Africa for Al Hamilton. Our son Eric was born August 1964 as we were raising funds to go. We served 14 months there, living in Hillsboro, Johannesburg, and then accepted a call to do similar work in Nigeria for Don Baughman . We spent another 14 Months there and were planning to return, but the Biafran war intervened, and we settled back in the Cincinnati area. I spent some time working for World Book Encyclopedia and then in a trip to Arizona to visit my parents, we returned through Casa Grande and preached there as a guest. A few weeks later we received a call to minister there, sold our house, packed up our belongings and moved to Casa Grande, Arizona, in August 1969. A fruitful and exciting ministry there ensued, but in 1974 we left and moved to Mesa, attending Central Christian Church there and eventually I got a job with the State of Arizona DES-DDD working with developmentally disabled folk of all ages. This job I kept, advancing in responsibility and retiring as a Case Manager in 1992. Soon after we joined Central, the minister asked if I could take forwarding agent duties for the Korean Christian Seminary. This began a 40 year association with Yoon Kwon Chae and Korea. We became treasurers and did convention exhibits and other traveling, including 3 trips to Korea for me and 2 for Donna. In 1981 we changed churches to First Christian Church of Tempe and we had many ministries there for this church. In October 2019 it was time to move to Senior Living and we went to Fellowship Square, a facility started by Christian Churches many years ago, and we are happy to have the protection of this place as we live out the coronavirus crisis attacking our world in 2020 == Sources ==1940 Arizona census Birth Certificate Baptismal certificate
