Biography

Orland, son of A N King & Odessa Morris, was born on 18 September 1913 in Monroe Township, Linn, Iowa, United States.[1]

In the 1920 census, Orland (age 6), Waitress, was the son of Albert N King in Cedar Rapids Ward 17, Linn, Iowa.[2]

In the 1930 census, Orland (age 16) was the single son of Odessa King in Iowa, Iowa, United States.[3]

Orland (age 22), son of Albert King & Edna Morris, married Ilamae Rowden on 15 April 1933 in Cedar Rapids, Linn, Iowa, United States.[4]

Orland and Ruth Ayers's daughter Kathleen Louise King was born on 21 December 1939 in Cedar Rapids, Linn, Iowa, United States.[5]

In the 1940 census, Orlando (age 26), Laborer, was the divorced brother of Deris Gist in Cedar Rapids, Linn, Iowa.[6]

Orland married Blanche Burtis on 14 May 1940 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States.[7]

In June 1940, Orland and his brother are arrested for stealing a vehicle.[8] His brother had been arrested 6 times before for auto theft. Orland had five earlier arrests for stolen vehicles. In Jul 1940, he and his brother were given one year sentences for the stolen vehicle arrest. Five year terms for a stolen watch were suspended.[9]

In October 1940, a divorce was granted between Orland King and Ruth.[10]

He was discharged from Iowa State Penitentiary April 16 1941 and enlisted in the army. Orland was in a military record on 16 April 1941 in Cedar Rapids, Linn, Iowa, United States.[11]

In the 1950 census, Orland (age 36), Poker Player, was the married lodger of Bertie A Neal in San Jose, Santa Clara, California, United States.[12]
